2022 budget to be presented in October

• ZAM stands ready to work with the Government in creating jobs and wealth for citizens.
• Association welcomes government’s proposition to enhance formation of joint ventures.

Minister of Finance has disclosed that the 2022 Budget will be presented towards the end of October, 2021.

And Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane has held 2022 National Budget consultations with Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM).

Speaking during the consultative meeting held at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Musokotwane reiterated the need for the industry to play an elevated role in job creation, value addition, tax compliance, and import substitution.

Meanwhile, ZAM President Ezekiel Sekele said the Association is elated with the new administration’s plan to promote industrial production, value addition, and mitigate the hindrances in the country’s business environment.

Mr. Sekele welcomed government’s proposition to enhance the formation of joint ventures between Zambian businesses and international investors in order to create jobs and enhance the quality of goods and services supplied to Zambians.

He assured the Minister that the Association stands ready to work with the Government in creating jobs and wealth for citizens.

The Association handed over a detailed submission to the Minister for review and assessment.
