The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) notes that if well implemented, the Seventh National Development Plan can transform Zambia economically.
CSPR Executive Director Patrick Nshindano says the only challenge that his organization has noticed is financing the implementation of the plan.
Mr. Nshindano says financing is a challenge due to fiscal space.
“The 7NDP remains a good document that anchors on national development, and if well implemented, we can see economic results in the country. It is also good that the plan has been aligned to the national budget, this is progressive,” said Mr. Nshindano.
He has also acknowledged that there are a number of successes and challenges in the implementation of the previous plans.
“There is need for us to reduce the poverty levels in our country. About 40 percent of Zambians live in abject poverty, this is not encouraging at all. There is a pillar in the 7NDP that looks at vulnerability and poverty, we can use this plan to reduce the poverty levels,” he said.
The CSPR Executive Director said this when he featured on Money FM Business Radio’s Policy, Power and Money that airs every Mondays and Thursdays at 9hrs.
