British High Commissioner to Zambia Cochrane-Dyet says the British Government through the Private Enterprise Programme (PEP) wants to help the Zambian private sector by creating jobs.

Mr. Dyet says there is unrealized potential among crafts people in Zambia and in the market.

He says the PEP programme is helping the producers of the crafts in raising the quality of the crafts and has so far organised up to five international buyers for the crafts and hopes that the number will grow.

And Tourism and Arts Minister Charles Banda says talent development in creative arts has been identified as key area in the job creation agenda for the Zambia youths.

Speaking during a meeting with British High Commissioner to Zambia Fergus Cochrane-Dyet at the office, Mr. Banda said arts and crafts need to be developed as this will create the much needed employment in the country.

The Minister says the Government is concerned with how the people can have full benefits of their efforts including artistic talents.
