Maintain high levels of cleanliness business community told

Ministry of health has advised the business community in the country to maintain high level of hygiene at trading places in an effort to prevent the outbreak of cholera as the rain season approaches.

Ministry of health spokesperson Dr Max Bweupe says the impact an outbreak of cholera has on businesses is very expensive as compared to the measures that have to be taken in order to prevent the disease.

‘’it’s cheaper to prevent cholera than to have trading places closed as a result of a cholera outbreak’’ he said.

Dr Bweupe has since urged the business community to ensure they have hand sanitizers and screen workers to avoid any possible outbreak of Cholera.

He adds that the ministry is on very high alert with enhanced surveillance for any potential or possible outbreak of cholera as the rain season approaches.

He says in an effort to prevent the cholera outbreak ministry of health has deployed public health specialist across the country to ensure that they spearhead community level effort.

Dr Bweupe was speaking in an interview with money fm news.
