ZRA issues 805,754 TPINs from January 2017 to December 2018

The Zambia Revenue Authority says it has issued a total of 805,754 Tax Payers Identification Numbers from January 2017 to December 2018.
ZRA Commissioner General Kingsley Chanda told the media in Lusaka that the Authority has since extended the TPIN registration period to June 30, 2019, for bank account holders that had bank accounts prior to first January 2017.
“According to financial institutions TPIN registration compliance levels stand at 61 percent, hence the need to extend the excise.” He said.
TPIN are a mandatory requirement for transactions with Zesco, Ministry of Lands, RTSA, and financial institutions hence the need to every one to have a TPIN number.
Mr Chanda further says the ZRA governing board last year approved the Corporate Strategic Plan for 2019-2021.
He has since commended the stakeholders in the formulation of the new corporate strategic plan.
