Local manufacturers tipped!

A local NGO, promoting the consumption of locally produced products, has encouraged manufacturing companies to ensure that they produce products that are fit for human consumption.
BuyZed Campaign Founder Evans Ngoma has told Money FM News that the happenings with the Natural Power SX energy drink should open up the minds of local manufacturers to produce products that will meet international standards.
Mr. Ngoma has encouraged producers to get products and processes certified and approved by the regulator, Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS).
“On the flip side we have been made aware that this particular product has a quality certification mark from ZABS and our view is 2 prolonged. This is a wakeup call as ZABS they must up their game so that their accreditation and certification encompassing and involving for all the factors including checking contents of ingredients,” he said.
Mr. Ngoma says there is an urgent need to protect the manufacturing sector’s reputation by being professional across board.
