FSDZ promoting women’s financial inclusion

The Financial Sector Deepening Zambia (FSDZ) say they are working in 3 spaces for women’s financial inclusion and access this year in the digital space and entrepreneurship.
FSDZ Head for Women and Youth Financial Capabilities Veyrl Adell says the organization is working on digitization of education related expenses.
She says this will allow for women to pay any education related expenses using digital platforms.
Ms. Adell says the organization is also working with local financial service providers to help farmers’ access financial products and services as well as sell their produce through digital platforms.
She adds that the organization is further working with vulnerable young men and women in central province to help connect them to financial services.
Ms. Adell says the group was trained for about a year and a half but were not ready for the financial services and opted to pilot with 8 savings group while they look at what entrepreneurship initiatives they can put in place for the group.
