Relaunching of Zambia Airways not possible in April – Banda

The Ministry of Tourism and Arts says the re-launch of the National Airline might delay further than April due to some technicalities.
Minister in charge Dr. Charles Banda has however noted that the preparations have reached a very advanced stage and that operations are expected to be underway by June 2019.
Dr. Banda also says the increasing number of airlines in Zambia will give more chances and opportunities for people to travel into Lusaka for tourism and business.
He says Tourism is anchored on connections with other countries and that the country has been preparing to be a tourism destination and to become a location of choice for high level international business conferences and exhibitions.
The Minister says there are a number of international airlines interested to do business in Zambia, including the Turkish Airlines.
He says Air Botswana and Air Tanzania will also be flying into Lusaka soon.
