Outlook for Kwacha positive

A local Financial Expert says outlook for the local currency is that the Kwacha will trade around 12.50 against the US dollar before it stabilizes.
Dr. Agape Kapasa has cited an Economics intelligence report that projects that performance of the Zambian Kwacha will stabilize in the first quarter of 2020.
Dr. Kapasa tells Money FM news that outlook for investor confidence for the Country is also positive due the outlook of the currency.
“The EIU report says the Kwacha will hover around the 12.58 to a dollar before stabilizing, they anticipate that the stabilization will occur in the first quarter of 2020.” Dr. Kapasa says, adding that the “report is the one that investors look at before investing in a country.”
He says outlook for Investor confidence is positive if the government reschedules its payment plan for the Chinese debt and signs a new comprehensive agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
