EAZ repeat calls for incorporation of SMEs in Shopping Malls

The Economic Association of Zambia has reiterated the need for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises to be given chance to showcase their products in newly built shopping malls.

Association President Lubinda Habazoka told Money FM News in an interview that when new big businesses move into high density but low cost areas, women and youths that do small businesses are disadvantaged.

“We need to ensure that Small and Medium Scale businesses also take part in showcasing or selling their products in the new shopping malls. Whenever big businesses move into less remote areas like compounds and low cost but high density areas, you find that they disadvantage the men, women and youths that do small businesses,” Dr. Habazoka said.

Dr. Habazoka said big businesses should find ways to incorporate SMEs to ensure that they sale their products in an organized manner.
“It’s up to big businesses to see how they can incorporate small businesses to ensure that these people also give a chance at subsidized rates to these businesses for them to sale their products at a more organized manner,” he stated.
