Support Teaching Service Commission – NAQEZ

• Teachers in the region and the country at large will be served better than before.
• The initiative will distance the teachers’ employer from various condemnations.
• NAQEZ in Central Province will take keen interest in seeing how the committees will be constituted.

National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) in Central Province has called on all stakeholders in the Ministry of General Education to support the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) and its reformation efforts.
Speaking to Money FM News, NAQEZ Provincial Secretary Dr. Justine Kabungo commended the Commission for the decision to delegate some of its functions up to district level.
Dr. Kabungo stated that the organization hopes that the new system that has been put in place will bring to an end the era of having frozen teaching and management positions as well as delayed confirmations.
He expressed confidence that apart from improving efficiency of the Teaching Service and motivating teachers in the country, the initiative will also distance the teachers’ employer from various condemnations.
“NAQEZ in Central Province will take keen interest in seeing how these committees will be constituted and how they will begin to serve our teachers.”
“It is our considered view that responsible officers appointed by the teaching commission will constitute committees which will rise to the occasion and be equal to the task,” Dr. Kabungo said.
