• Kenneth Chisamanga has been charged with 13 counts of Corrupt Practices.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a lecturer at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University for receiving over K16,000 in bribes from students to facilitate their passing in Continuous Assessments Tests.
Speaking at a media briefing, Commission Corporate Communications Manager Timothy Moono revealed that 43 year old Kenneth Chisamanga aged 43, a Lecturer in Pharmacology and Pharmacist of Meanwood Kwamwena Valley in Lusaka, has been charged with 13 counts of Corrupt Practices contrary to Section 19 sub section (1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.
Mr. Moono said between 1st January 2022 and 25th November 2022 in Lusaka District, whilst acting together with persons unknown, Mr. Chisamanga corruptly solicited and received various amounts of cash totaling K7, 500 from a named first year student in the Midwifery Diploma Class as an inducement or reward for him to facilitate the adjustment in continuous assessment test results and final examination results.
“Further, Kenneth Chisamanga being a lecturer at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University did corruptly solicit and received various amounts of cash totalling K9, 100. 00 from another named first year student in the Midwifery Diploma Class at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University as an inducement or reward for to facilitate for the adjustment in continuous assessment test results and final examination results. Matters or transactions that concern Levy Mwanawasa Medical University, a public body. Chisamanga has since been released on Bond and will appear in court soon,” Mr. Moono said.
And Mr. Moono urged students to work extra hard in order to get good grades and avoid obtaining qualifications using dubious means.
“Let us work hard as citizens to ensure that we obtain the qualification based on hard work to be able to perform when we are placed in industry, to be able to develop our country because we have the qualification,” Mr. Moono advised.
He also stated that the corruption that is happening in the education sector is worrying as there have been a lot of cases on examination malpractices and now in the passing of exams as well as continuous assessment tests facilitated by lecturers and teachers who receive bribes.
