ACC seizes Bowman Lusambo’s properties worth over K22.8 million

• The seized properties are located in Lusaka’s Chamba Valley area.
• They are said to have been acquired and constructed by Mr. Lusambo using suspected proceeds of crime.
• ACC reasonably believes and suspects that the properties are still registered in another person’s name.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has seized properties belonging to former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo suspected to be proceeds of crime, worth over K22.8 million.
Commission Spokesperson Queen Chibwe revealed that the seized properties are located in Lusaka’s Chamba Valley area and are said to have been acquired and constructed by Mr. Lusambo using suspected proceeds of crime.
Mrs. Chibwe said the Commission reasonably believes and suspects that the properties are still registered in another person’s name, adding that the seizure is in connection with an ongoing investigation.
“The properties are plot F/609/E/44/B/3, F/609/E/44/B/4, F/609/E/44/B/5, F/609/E/44/B/6, F/609/E/44/B/7, F/609/E/44/B/8 and F/609/E/44/B/9 and subdivision 50 at farm E of farm No. 609. All these properties are located in Lusaka’s Chamba Valley area.”
“The seizure is in accordance with Section 58(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act of No. 3 of 2012,” Mrs. Chibwe said.
She called on members of the public to report any one in possession of properties suspected of being proceeds of crime and a reward will be given upon a successful recovery.
Mr. Lusambo was recently arrested by the Commission for being in possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime worth US$378,000.
