• This should be done by repositioning and strengthening of the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission.
• Zambia has had for a long time an acute deficit of infrastructure in key sectors.
• It is now time to diffuse the election political euphoria and rally behind a common national agenda of making the country better.
Inter Africa Governance Network (AFRINET) says governments’ core focus should be formulation of a sustainable multi-sectorial empowerment policy for the Youth and Women in blue collar economic sectors.
AFRINET Executive Director Maurice Malambo told Money FM news that this should be done by repositioning and strengthening of the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC).
Mr. Malambo stated the immediate past administration of the Patriotic Front (PF) has made some strides in the area of infrastructure on which the new administration has an opportunity to improve upon and unlock the immense economic potential of the country.
He said AFRINET takes “recognizance of the fact that Zambia has had for a long time an acute deficit of infrastructure in key sectors to anchor the diversification and growth of the economy and human development.”
Mr. Malambo adds that it is now time to diffuse the election political euphoria and rally behind a common national agenda of making the country better than everyone found it by rising above individual political, personal preferences differences “because if President Hichilema fails, Zambia has failed and if President Hichilema succeeds, then Zambia will succeed.”
AFRINET Executive Director had since urged Zambians to support the government of the day, provide checks and balances, positive criticism and alternative thought.
