Researcher and Consultant in Climate Smart Agriculture says setting up of the agricultural bank will help on sustainability of agriculture in Zambia.
Dr. Oliver Bulaya following parliamentarian’s motion on the floor of the house on the subject, tells Money FM News that this bank should have interest of smallholder farmers who cannot access facilities in current banks because of unfavouring conditions.
Dr. Bulaya noted Smallholder farmers are not progressing because of lack of finances to inject in their farming aspirations adding that the bank can provide alterative systems to spur agriculture sustainability
He said enough lessons have been learnt from liquidation of Lima bank further urging authorities to structure modalities for sustainability of the bank.
“I laud the parliamentarian’s motion on the floor of the house on setting up of the agricultural bank,” Dr. Bulaya said.
He added that “this is a good move as it will help on the sustainability of agricultural in Zambia,” Dr. Bulaya said.
