Zambia’s Ambassador to Brazil has applauded the unity of purpose shown by African Governments in the fight against COVID-19.
Speaking during the African Embassies’ quarterly forum in Brasilia, Dr Alfrida Kansembe said improving the performance of individual countries by carrying out plans for developmental projects and sharing best practices on managing the pandemic must be prioritized among community members, Diplomatic Missions and Governments in order to win the fight.
“Zambia has taken a proactive approach of communicating COVID-19 risks to the general public as well as emphasizing on strict health guidelines aimed at fighting the pandemic,” she said.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s African group of Ambassadors commended African governments for putting up a strong fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Dean of the African group of Ambassadors in Brazil, Dr. Martin Mbeng said African leaders have shown a coordinated continental thrust in the fight against coronavirus.
“African Heads of State deserve appreciation for effectively focusing on infection prevention and control mechanisms that have deterred the COVID-19 from escalating to alarming levels on the African continent,” he said.
African Ambassadors in Brazil want to find workable ideas that can assist individual African countries in fighting and containing COVID -19.
