Be alert, ZCSA warns consumers

The Zambia Standard and Compulsory Agency has advised the consumers to fully understand products on promotion before buying them as some of them might have a short shelf life.
Agency Spokesperson Lee Haamunji says some products are put on promotion as a way of clearing them from the shelves.
Mr. Haamunji says expired products are not good to the health of the consumers and hence the need to avoid buying such products.
“You see when you buy expired product it means you are endangering your life because such products are not good for your health. There is need for the consumer to understand the product fully before buying it,” he said.
“Some products are on the shelves because they want to get rid of them. During this festive season, consumers ought to be extra careful not to buy expired products.”
The Zambia Standard and Compulsory Agency was speaking when he featured on Money FM Business Radio’s Your Consumer Rights Programme that airs every Wednesdays at 9hrs.
