Non-governmental organization Born Short Living Tall says it will endeavor to supplement government efforts in the Education sector.

In a statement issued to Money FM News Executive Director Ntalasha Chisha said it is for this reason that the organization has decided to partner with Bepp Zambia an ICT Company to embark on a program dubbed E-TUIT ZAMBIA aimed at minimizing the educational disruption and facilitate the continuity of learning; especially for the most vulnerable in society due to COVID 19.

Mr Chisha explained that E-tuit Zambia is an e-learning platform which will focus on providing lessons for school going children in key subjects such as Science, Mathematics, Biology, English and Civic Education.

He said lessons will be broadcast live on television, Facebook, You-tube, e-tuit App and other digital platforms.

“This program endeavours to help compliment government efforts in making sure that school going children continue to access lessons in a safe and healthy environment (homes).” He said.

“This program is focused on balancing the importance of maintaining health of learners and learning needs of the pupils across Zambia.”

He explained that the program also aims at helping the country attain the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on innovation and quality education whose focus is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

“This program is available for funding and we will forge partnerships with corporate companies, local NGO’s and members of parliament so that every schoolchild (learner) in this nation benefits from this program. We strongly believe that whatever happens, learning should continue as it gives a strong foundation for this nation.”

He has also commended efforts by government through the Ministry of Health to combat COVID 19 adding that bold steps taken to close schools is a clear statement to this fact.

“As an organization we would like to commend Minister of Health Dr Chitalu Chilufya for being on top of things and ensuring that the health sector undergoes massive transformation.” Mr Chisha Said.

“As an organization it is our duty to supplement government efforts knowing that without the volunteer support of NGOs the development agenda of the nation will not be realized. Therefore the teaching provided on E-Tuit Zambia Platforms will be free of charge.”
