The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) says it has received about three hundred and sixty-three applications for fingerlings farming under the aquaculture project.
CEEC Executive Director Likando Mukumbuta has told Money FM News in an interview that the commission is currently evaluating the applications.
Mr. Mukumbuta says successful applicants will be provided with the business loans that will allow the country to have a fingerling archery in the thirty-four targeted districts.
He says the project will be implemented at a total cost of twenty-six million US dollars.
Mr. Mukumbuta says the commission will next month advertise for the value chain, adding that it started with the archery project in order to make sure that there enough fingerlings before farmers would start applying for other fields.
He says the commission is also expecting to give loans to twelve thousand people under the cassava processing project in Northwestern, Luapula, and Northern Province.
He says the applications for the cassava project have already been evaluated and the applicants are only waiting to be provided with the loans.
And Mr Mukumbuta says the commission communicates to members of the public whenever has funds available for a particular project.
He has advised members of the public to apply for the loans once the commission advertise for the loans.
