The Zambia Chambers of Mine says it foresees the weakening of copper prices on the international market in 2019.
Chamber Chief Executive Officer Sokwani Chilembo has told Money FM News that the chamber has also presented its case to the Ministry of Finance with regards the mine tax changes that will be effected in 2019.
Mr. Chilembo says this is a tax cage that can affect the operations of the mining sector.
He says the chamber projects a modest mining production for 2019 due to what he has termed as a tax cage.
“We foresee a steady outlook for 2019 but what will impact a lot is the tax changes announced in the 2019 national budget,” he said.
