Chambeshi Railway Bridge reopening delayed further

• Unforeseen challenges faced in completing the works
• repairs are now expected to end by 30th August
• Re-opening of the line is consequently expected around 15th September 2022.

Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) says re-opening of Chambeshi Railway Bridge on the Chambeshi River has been delayed further.

TAZARA Head of Public Relations Conrad Simuchile disclosed to Money FM News that the delayment was attributed to unforeseen challenges faced in completing the works by the Engineering Contractor.

Mr. Simuchile explained repairs were now expected to end by 30th August 2022.
He said re-opening of the line was consequently expected around 15th September 2022 after line testing.

“We regret to announce that the re-opening of the Chambeshi Railway Bridge on the Chambeshi River has been delayed further due to unforeseen challenges faced in completing the works by the Engineering Contractor,” Mr Simuchile announced.
