Civil servants union wants health insurance scheme implementation package discussed

The Civil Servants and Allies Workers Union of Zambia has called on government to Engage workers on how they are going to implement the National Health Insurance Scheme.
Union President Davy Chiyobe says in an interview with Money FM news that members are not happy as government has decided to implement the package without explaining how it is going to be implemented.
He says members are wondering about the budget for the scheme and modalities under which people are goi5 to access the medical services, especially those from far flung areas.
The Union President has notes that if Money is being deducted, there must be a fund manager to track the funds coming in and going out and th manage.
He explains that their members Want to be informed on how the whole scheme will be managed.
Mr. Chiyobe has clarified that the union and Members do not have a problem with the Insurance bill as the challenge is on the implementation cost and process.
Government recently announced that they will contribute two percent for each civil servant towards the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme.
