Constant Inflation rate has reduced economic growth – Hambayi

A social enterprise fund says the constant rate of inflation recorded in January 2019 has reduced economic growth.
Development Finance Associates Senior Partner Trevor Hambayi also says the inflation rate will reduce to about 7 percent due to lack of investment within the economy.
He was speaking in a telephone interview with Money FM News in Lusaka today.
The Annual Inflation Rate for January 2019 has remained at 7.9 Percent, showing no movement from December 2018.
This has been attributed to an increase in inflation for Food and Non Alcoholic beverages and Transport and education Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Central Statistical Office (CSO) Acting Director for Census and Statistics Daniel Daka said this during the Presentation of the Monthly Bulletin in Lusaka.
