Zambia National Team attacker Ntazana Mayembe says making a debut for Zambia against Senegal in Thies was an emotional moment for him.
Mayembe is on the books of Cardiff under-18 and recently opted to play for Zambia ahead of two other possible suitors, says he was happy with the switch in gear by the Chipolopolo in the second after they conceded 3 goals in the first half.
“It was an emotional moment for me to come on. I thought let me give it my all, to play for the shirt. That is all I could do and for me, it was just an unbelievable feeling and overcoming all my fears and everything,” said the 18-year-old.
Mayembe adds that a recovery in the next two matches against Benin and Sudan will lift the team as they have learnt from their mistakes.
“The bounce back is key for the team; we have learnt from our mistakes. I could tell the guys are hungry for the next two games. the results will show, I am looking forward to the next game and hopefully play a part in the games,” he said.
The Chipolopolo is in Benin where they will face the Squirrels on Tuesday in the second match of their three international match tour.
