Some Event Planners in Lusaka say government’s decision to ban public functions such as Kitchen Parties, Weddings, and Chilanga Mulilo to curtail the rising Covid-19 cases and deaths, has negatively affected their businesses.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, one of the Event Planners Dorothy Masuwa said clients who had already paid before the ban was effected, are currently requesting to be refunded their money which is a huge setback for the planners.
Ms. Masuwa lamented that there is nothing that planners can do at the moment as people’s health comes first, hence the need to follow Government’s directive.
She stated that people have stopped hiring out events décor materials because no events are taking place at the moment.
“The ban is really a set back to the Events Planners as people are asking for their money back after paying for wedding planning and décor,” she said.
She hopes that the pandemic passes soon so that business can go back to normal as she and many others depend on business for income.
