FQM produced over 605, 000 tonnes of copper in 2018

First Quantum Minerals Limited (FQM) recorded 605, 853 tonnes of copper production in 2018 compared to the 573, 963 tonnes recorded in 2017.
This shows an increase in terms of production of 31, 890 tonnes.
In a statement posted on Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE), FQM says Copper Sales for the period under review stood at 596, 513 tonnes compared to the 580, 130 tonnes recorded in 2017.
The mining giant says Gold production for 2018 was 185, 414 ounces lower than the 199, 736 ounces recorded in 2017.
The statement says Gold sales for the period under review stood at 193, 072 ounces lower than the 201, 376 ounces recorded in the previous year.
As for Zinc production, the firm says it recorded 26, 807 tonnes higher than the 20, 733 tonnes recorded in 2017.
FQM further states that Zinc sales stood at 26, 112 tonnes higher than the 21, 851 tonnes recorded in the previous year.
The FQM’s Securities Exchange News Statement monitored by Money FM News further indicates that copper production at Kansanshi Mine Limited stood at 251, 522 tonnes slightly higher than the 250, 801 tonnes recorded in 2017.
Kansanshi Mine’s copper sales for the year 2018 stood at 229, 832 tonnes lower than the 267, 700 tonnes recorded in the previous year, 2017.
The statement adds that Gold production at Kansanshi for the year 2018 stood at 130, 019 ounces lower than the 140, 595 ounces recorded in 2017.
As for Gold sales, Kansanshi mine recorded 134, 424 ounces lower than the 139, 735 ounces recorded in 2017.
