• IMF Deputy Managing Director Antoinette Monsio Sayeh is scheduled to visit Lusaka, Zambia.
• The high-level talks will focus on recent economic developments.
• The two parties will also discuss progress made on debt restructuring.

Ministry of Finance has disclosed that International Monetary Fund (IMF) Deputy Managing Director is scheduled to visit Zambia, from today 14th to 15th June, 2022.
In a statement, the Ministry said the high-level talks between Antoinette Monsio Sayeh and Government will focus on recent economic developments and the effect of global economic developments such as high oil and fertilizer prices on the Zambian economy.
It stated that the two parties will also discuss progress made on debt restructuring, which is an important step towards a formal programme with the IMF.
“During the tour of duty, Ms. Sayeh will pay a courtesy call on Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, and hold discussions with the Minister of Finance and National Planning, Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane and the Bank of Zambia Governor, Dr. Denny Kalyalya.”
The Ministry further stated that Ms. Sayeh is also expected to hold discussions with Members of Parliament, Civil Society and other Development Partners.
Ms. Sayeh will be accompanied to the high-level meetings with Zambian authorities by Acting IMF Resident Representative Carlos Caceres, who is the serving IMF Resident Representative to Zimbabwe, IMF Mission Chief for Zambia Ms. Holland Allison, Stephane Roudet, Advisor, and other IMF staff.
