Minister of Community Development and Social Welfare says government will not condone any form of corruption, fraud and inconsistency in the distribution of the social cash transfer.
Kampamba Chewe told Money FM News in an interview that the Ministry has since launched a biometric program for the disbursement of social cash transfer in a bid to boost accountability.
Mrs. Chewe said one of the major components of the program is the establishment of a Grievance Mechanism Committee where the aggrieved beneficiaries or those who may have grievances on how the social cash transfer is distributed can report.
She added that the Ministry is on course in ensuring that issues of misapplication of social cash transfer funds are dealt with accordingly.
“We will not condone any form of corruption, any form of fraud, or inconsistency, in the distribution of the social cash transfer, and one of the major skies in the program, is a grievance mechanism committee where the beneficiaries that are aggrieved or members of the community who may have grievances on how the social cash transfer is distributed can actually report to this grievance mechanism committee.”
“So as Government under the Ministry of Community Development, we are on course and this is what we have done so far, Mrs. Chewe.
