An Opposition Political Party has urged government not to repeat the mistakes of Privatization in Zambia, a move that led to high poverty levels, unemployment, ghost towns and poor economy among others.
In a statement issued to Money FM News, Leadership Movement Party Media Director Tatila Tatila said the country needs production which will result into Job Creation and Empowerment especially for the local people and not privatization.
“As Leadership Movement we strongly urge the UPND Government not repeat the mistakes of Privatization in Zambia as it led to high poverty levels, unemployment, ghost towns, poor economy and not forgetting social effects such as crime, prostitution and street kids,” he stated.
Mr. Tatila pointed out that closing or placing Indeni on care and maintenance is not Development.
He further expressed gratitude to Unions and other stakeholders for speaking out and defending voiceless Indeni workers.
“Allow us to thank the Unions and other stakeholders for speak out and defending voiceless Indeni workers,” Mr. Tatila said.
