Govt urged to review some Acts to increase youth empowerment

The Accountability Advocates Zambia has observed the need to revise some Acts in order to promote and ensure that youths are effectively empowered in Zambia.
Accountability Executive Director Chilufya Luchembe tells Money FM News that this is because even the funding under the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) is competitive.
Mr. Luchembe says there is also need to address the issue of non-payment of loans by youths saying this also affects the growth of others.
He said some youths who even receive empowerment do not have business plans to successfully execute their businesses saying this affects their performance.
He is confident that young people have the potential to help grow the country’s economy.
Mr. Luchembe said stakeholders must help young entrepreneurs with skills as this will increase their capacity to grow their business portfolios.
