The Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia (PSZ) says the next Registrar of the Health Professionals Council of Zambia (HPCZ) should ensure that rural communities have access to medical facilities and enough health Personnel.
PSZ President Jerome Kanyika says this is to ensure that the rural communities are not disadvantaged with regards to access to health.
This is following the redeployment of Dr. Aaron Mujajati from the HPCZ to the Ndola Central Hospital.
The society President says they are saddened by the redeployment of Dr Mujajati as he brought sanity in the health professions Council of Zambia.
Mr. Kanyika says in a statement that “Within a short period of time he was at HPCZ we have seen the following changes: complaince level has increased by all the stakeholders eg the training institutions, the health workers and the health facilities; We saw also the introduction of the much need LEX exams for the first time in the history of Zambia; We saw the expansion of health professions Council offices from only Lusaka to other parts of Zambia.”
He adds that “Since the registrar has been redeployed we want to put it on record that the profession body is ready to work with the new person the minister of health will appoint as the registrar and offer support and professional advices on the pharmaceutical matters.”
