The World Farmers Organisation has commended Zambia’s plans to integrate local and small-scale farmers with large commercial farmers saying this will help remove conflict and misunderstandings in the sector.
Organisation President Dr. Theo de Jager has described the integration plan as modern and attractive.
Dr. de Jager has added that Zambia has an ideal climate for the agriculture sector to thrive as well as favorable environment for investment security.
He was speaking with his counterpart from Agri All Africa Dirk Henekom at a fare well event for Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba who has been appointed as Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent representative to the African Union (AU).
The Executives have also noted that Zambia holds the promise of becoming a food basket in Africa.
This is according to the First Secretary for Press and Public relations at the Zambian High Commission in South Africa, Naomi Nyawali.
