Intensify monitoring measures for mining firms.

The Small Scale Miners Association of Zambia has urged government to intensify monitoring measures for large mining firms following the pronounced increase in Gold Mining this year.

Speaking in an interview with Money FM News Association Executive Director Kunda Chani says this will promote transparence in the manner Gold is mined in the country.

Mr Chani said the Association will this year contribute to the cost of Gold production.
“Despite increase in Gold production the association will not sideline other mining activities such as the manganese mining” Mr Chani said.
He said the Association will this year focus on increasing participation in the national economy by producing enough stocks.

“Increase in stock production will result in the mining industry performing better compared to how the sector performed in 2019”. He added.
Mr Chani notes that the association is further looking up to government to connect small scale miners with various cooperating partners in an effort for them to be viable.
