Kanchibiya Constituency procures 255 x 20 kg bags of rice seed

• 85 Cooperatives will participate under close supervision from the Department of Agriculture in the District.
• The intervention is critical for sustainable development and social-economic development growth for Kanchibiya Constituency.
• All cooperatives under this Programme will cultivate one hectare each and will receive three bags of rice seed.

Kanchibiya Member of Parliament has disclosed that the Constituency has procured 255 x 20 kilogram bags of rice seed and 344 bags of D-compound Fertiliser to be distributed to targeted Cooperatives in four wards along the Bangweulu Wetlands.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, Sunday Chanda named the four wards as Chinama, Munikashi, Lulingila and Mbati.
Mr. Chanda said under the project, 85 Cooperatives will participate under close supervision from the Department of Agriculture in the District.
He stated that the intervention is critical for sustainable development and social-economic development growth for Kanchibiya Constituency.
He explained that all cooperatives under this Programme will cultivate one hectare each and will receive three bags of rice seed or 20 kilograms each and four bags of D-compound, with 85 hectares of land to be cultivated under phase one.
“We are ready with rice and fertilizer support for rice cooperatives in Kanchibiya Constituency. We have procured 255 x 20kg bags of rice seed and 344 bags of D-compound Fertiliser. All cooperatives under this Programme will cultivate one hectare each and will receive three (03) bags of rice seed (20kgs each) and four (04) bags of D-compound. Under phase one, 85 hectares of land will be cultivated.”
“Lastly but not the least, let me thank their Royal Highnesses, Kanchibiya Town Council, Councilors, Ward Development Committees and the participating Cooperatives for working hard to ensure this project becomes a reality,” Mr. Chanda said.
