President Edgar Lungu has emphasized on the need for significant investments in the implementation of Information communications Technology (ICTs) in service delivery.
President Lungu says ICTs have a vital role in Public Service delivery even as the country works towards achieving E government and a Smart Zambia.
The Head of state has therefore challenged Public servants to equip themselves with Knowledge and the use of ICTs as they carry out their mandate.
President Lungu was speaking when he officiated at the the joint 63rd LGAZ Annual Conference and 16th AMICAALL General Assembly under the theme: “Embracing E-government for Improved Local Service Delivery.”
Speaking at the same event, the Local Government association of Zambia has appealed to the head of state to intervene in the implementation of the new conditions of service for Mayors in the country.
LGAZ President Christopher Kangombe says this is because the implementation of the conditions of service has delayed despite several efforts and directives by the association to the necessary institutions.
