Money FM unveils Environmental Plan

Money FM Radio Limited has unveiled an environmental plan to encourage people to cut down on waste and reduce greenhouse gases tied to global warming.

Money FM Radio Board Chairman Chisebwe Fumbeshi said Zambia’s first Business Radio wants to help people to be good stewards for the environment.

Mr. Fumbeshi says the company wants Zambians ultimately use only renewable energy sources and produce zero waste.

Mr. Fumbeshi says the objective of the campaign, which is called Money Goes Green, is to help prevent worsening environmental conditions in Zambia by providing pro-environment messages.

“In order to supplement government efforts towards the keep Zambia clean, green and healthy campaign, we as a business radio station have decided to come up with something that will contribute positively to the dissemination of information in support of global warming efforts,” he said.

Mr. Fumbeshi states that Money FM Radio, whose focus is business and money related topics, feels compelled to play a part in the promotion of individual participation through the family in maintaining a healthy and green environment.

He says it is known fact that Zambia is one of many countries threatened by the effects of climate change and hence the need for stakeholders to take punitive action in overcoming effects of this vice.

“Zambia needs to mainstream climate risk reduction in its developmental process because the more we develop as a country the more vulnerable we become,” he said.

The Money FM Radio Board Chairman says this is in line with the station’s ideology of focusing on wider social topics such as health, education, food, music, fitness, environment and more.
