Monitoring of rice production commences in Kanchibiya Constituency

• The monitoring team will also appreciate challenges faced by cooperatives.
• The team is also carrying out the stock taking seed and fertilizer to ensure any remaining seed is secure.
• This exercise is important for tracking and measuring results.

Kanchibiya Member of Parliament says monitoring of rice production has commenced in selected areas of the Constituency under the 2022 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Sunday Chanda told Money FM News that during this exercise, the monitoring team will also appreciate challenges faced by cooperatives from place to place and recommend interventions going into the next agricultural season.

Mr. Chanda stated that the team is also carrying out the stock taking seed and fertilizer to ensure any remaining seed is secure, adding that some cooperatives could not meet the targeted hectarage due to the absence of mechanized farming.

“We have started Monitoring of rice production in selected areas in Kanchibiya Constituency under the CDF 2022 starting with Chinama and Munikashi Wards.

“The Monitoring Core team included the following people; SAO – Department of Agriculture, Kanchibiya, area Councilors – Chinama and Munikashi, Ward Development Committee Members, Assistant TSB, DPO – Kanchibiya Town Council, Socio-Economic Planner – Kanchibiya Town Council,” Mr. Chanda stated.

He further said the monitoring of rice production started yesterday and is expected to be concluded by Sunday.
“This exercise is important for tracking and measuring results as well as focusing on the impact of the intervention. We look forward to studying recommendations of the report to be generated,” he added.
