Mosi-oa-Tunya Livingstone Resort creates over 1,000 jobs

• Construction of the Mosi-oa-Tunya Livingstone Resort has reached an advanced stage.
• It is currently standing at 80 percent completion.
• The project has created over 1, 000 jobs of which 30 percent of jobs are for the females.

National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) says construction of the K1.7 billion Mosi-oa-Tunya Livingstone resort has reached 80 percent completion level.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News, Authority Head of Corporate Affairs Cephas Sinyangwe said the project which has so far created over 1, 000 jobs, is expected to be completed by May this year, three months ahead of schedule.
Mr. Sinyangwe stated that 30 percent of the jobs that have been created are for the female, a situation that is bringing a lot of benefits to the Livingstone community.
“The construction of the Mosi-oa-Tunya Livingstone Resort in Livingstone by NAPSA which began in July 2020 has reached an advanced stage, currently standing at 80 percent completion.”
“The resort which was initially scheduled to be completed in July 2022 is ahead of schedule and the contractor has pledged to complete works by May 2022, three months ahead of schedule. So far the project has created over 1, 000 jobs of which 30 percent of jobs are for the females, which is very good for the benefit of the women folk,” Mr. Sinyangwe said.
He added that more jobs are expected to be created once the hotel begins operations.
“This definitely brings a lot of benefits to the community of Livingstone, who have had a beautiful and great opportunity during the pandemic, and it is anticipated that more jobs will be created as the hotel begins operations from the new employees that will be employed to continue running the hotel,” he added.
The resort, located in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park in Livingstone, is being built by government through the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA).
