The Ministry of Tourism and Arts says it will support tourism investments that benefits communities.
Minister in Charge Ronald Chitotela was speaking during a meeting with the managers of Kashokota-Mushingashi Game Ranch yesterday, where he expressed happiness that the ‘wars’ that appeared to hinder development efforts at the private property had come to an end.

Mr. Chitotela says he supports the development model of Kashikoto but that he would like to get on the ground to appreciate the situation by engaging with communities.
“The importance of tourism operators to function within the acceptance of communities as the best work way to have the investments protected, which he said is government’s wish to have businesses safe and attract more investments in the tourism sector” he said.
And Kasokoto coordinator Allan Lupenga said the development at Mushingashi would benefit both Government and local communities through the increased wildlife numbers.
He says he said what Kaindu Natural Resources Trust needs to do now is to settle down and reorganize them and get an outfitter who can do safari hunting for them when there is a hunting quota. Adding that the problems that was there between the two parties was settled and development comes to the area.
Meanwhile, Kaindu Natural Resources Trust Chairperson Humphrey Kabinda said, the community has decided to withdraw the court case they the community conservancy had filed against Kashokoto for erecting holding bomas on their property, which were disrupting the free, flow of animals.
The community have agreed in principle to have their eastern boundary fenced to prevent encroachment on communal lands and which will also protect the animals which are being translocated into the area by Kashokoto.

Kabinda said the continued differences would hold back development and that they have agreed on which parts of the game ranch to be fenced off.
He said Kashokoto currently employs more than 400 youths from Chief Kaindu’s area and further intends to employ 250 more.
