A local artist and entrepreneur says the country does not have all the required elements to run a successful music industry.
Artist, CEO and Founder of Atmosphere Nation, Chaka Nyantando popularly known as Pompi, has however argued against conventional beliefs in Zambia that it is possible for one to make a living through creative arts.
He therefore says those who wish to make a living in the industry should be ready to accept the challenges that it comes with.
Atmosphere nation is a local business in the creative arts industry that specializes in events and sound.
Figures from the Central Statistical Office indicate that the arts and entertainment industry is the least contributor to the country’s Gross Domestic Product with a contribution of 0.3 percent in the first three quarters of 2018.
CSO Director for Census and Statistics Goodson Sinyenga says the Arts, entertainment and recreation industry is also the least employing industry having employed 3,252 people in 2017, representing a 0.1 Percent.
Zambia is revolutionizing in as the creative arts industry is grows steadily.
This steady growth has been evidenced from the diversity of artists and entrepreneurs that have decided to challenge the popular belief that one cannot make a living on their creative arts alone.
