NAPSA Directors Swindled about 600,000-ZP

The Zambia Police Service says it has received five reports of obtaining Money by False Pretense from five Directors at National Pensions Authority in Lusaka worth K600, 000.

In a statement issued to Money FM News, Police Spokesperson Ester Katongo said the Directors were swindled of various amounts of money by a Law firm called Marshal Chambers on pretext that there was Land on sale.

Ms Katongao said 2 of the complaints paid a down payment of K100, 000 each except for one complainant who paid K200, 000 for two plots bringing the total amount to K600, 000.

She said between 16th and 23rd July, 2019, the Directors at National Pensions Authority received information that there was Land for sale at Baobab along Kafue road and that the sale was spearheaded by Marshal Chambers, a Law firm headed by Mr Germano Mutale Kaulungombe.

Ms Katonga said investigations revealed that the land in question belonged to Nyimba Investments and had not been offered for sale hence three suspects identified as Germiano Mutale Kaulungombe, Stanley Tembo and Leonard Mapulunga Nyoni were apprehended and jointly charged and arrested for one count of Forcible Detainer Contrary to section 87 and five counts of obtaining Money by false pretense contrary to section 309 Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

She says the suspects have been detained in police custody and will appear in Court soon.

Ms Katongo has since appealed to people that could have been swindled in respect to the said Baobab land to report to the Police.
