LCC Public Relations Manager George Sichimba said this follows the expiry of the for deadline which was set for June 30, 2019 after launching the automation of the construction permitting system on 4th January this year.

Mr Sichimba said the local authority assigned six months grace period to sensitise members of the public about the new service.

“This means that clients will from now on have to send softy copy applications online and monitor the progress online” Mr Sichimba said.

“Feedback from Council will also be given online including the fees to be paid which could then be paid through the banks or other payment platforms which have been introduced.”

Mr Sichimba said the service is aimed at improving service delivery and it allows a client to monitor progress on the application from their comfort zones.

Mr Sichimba has since encouraged Lusaka residents to make use of the automated system (Metro Manager) which can be accessed on the main LCC website.
He has further encouraged clients that may encounter any problems in the process of submitting applications online are free contact City Planning Department for assistance.
