Planners urges Govt to formulate ‘Upgrading Policy’

The Zambia Institute of Planners (ZIP) has called on the government to develop an upgrading policy to address the unplanned settlements across the country.
ZIP President Cooper Chibomba tells Money FM News that this will help in the upgrading of unplanned settlements such as Misisi in Lusaka.
Mr. Chibomba says the government, through the Ministry of Local Government should work with key stakeholders in developing this policy.
He says the upgrading of unplanned settlements require proper planning highlighting how the people in the area will be able to receive social amenities.
Mr. Chibomba says the idea of upgrading unplanned settlements such as Misisi is a good idea but needs further studies on how it will be done.
