Reduce SME’s risk for failure for financial access – DFA

A social enterprise fund manager says there is need to reduce the risk that Small and Medium enterprises carry when it comes to failure to repay loans.
Development Finance Associates senior Partner Trevor Hambayi says the environment under which SMEs operate needs to be made attractive for financing.
He says the risk the have for failure is what makes access to financing difficult for them as financing institutions also aim at making profits.
Mr. Hambayi says in an interview with Money FM that this needs concerted efforts from partners in order for it to be achieved.
He however says that his organization is hoping that a planned SME development consortium will be launched in the next 6 months.
Mr. Hambayi says the consortium will comprise of different business development providers to address some challenges that Small and Medium Enterprises Face.
