RTSA, ZTCA caution motorists.

The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) in collaboration with Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) is working out modalities to stop the growing trend of producing and circulating accident scene pictures and videos of both the deceased and injured persons on social media.

In a joint statement issued to Money FM News, RTSA and ZICTA said
It is unethical to circulate pictures or videos showing dead bodies and injured persons in road accidents.

“It is unethical to circulate pictures or videos in ‘bad taste’ such as those showing dead bodies and injured persons in road accidents” The Statement said.

The organizations have since urged motorists and members of the public to take responsibility and stop filming accidents victims but instead render assistance to save lives.

“RTSA and ZICTA are, therefore, urging all motorists and members of the public to take responsibility and stop filming accidents victims but instead render assistance to save lives.” It said.
