Shoulder injury ends Ngoma’s U20 AFCON dream

Israel based, Zambia Under-20 striker, Richard Ngoma is ruled out of the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ngoma was named in the final squad for the Under-20 campaign in Egypt has been ruled out after sustaining a shoulder injury during his side Maccabi Netanya’s Under-19 league match on Saturday.

Ngoma was due to join the Zambian camp in Alexandria on Sunday but will no longer join the squad after being substituted in the 62nd minute of his club’s match.

Power Dynamos forward Moses Mulenga will join the squad to complete Chisi Mbewe’s squad for the tournament.

Zambia starts its AFCON journey on Tuesday with a match against Benin which kicks off at 19:00 hours. The next Group C match will be on Friday against The Gambia before facing Tunisia on February 27 in Cairo.
