The Lusaka South Multi Facility Economic Zone (MFEZ) says there is a misconception about the US$500, 000 minimum investment for one to access the incentives in the zones.
The Lusaka South MFEZ says even if one invests below the US$500, 000 investment capital they can still invest in the zones.
Speaking in an interview with Money FM News in Lusaka South MFEZ Managing Director Mukela Muyunda says the US$500, 000 is not an entry fee, adding that even if the investor invested below US$500, 000 one can still invest in the MFEZ.
Mrs. Muyunda says there is a misconception about the US$500, 000, adding that stakeholders have to understand what the investment value is all about.
She says the US$500, 000 is in the Zambia Development Agency Act, hence the more reason the stakeholders should understand it.
Mrs. Muyunda adds that the 500 thousand dollars does not only apply to the Lusaka South Multi Facility Economic Zone but to all other economic zones in the country.
She says for the investor to benefit from a tax holiday they have to make a substantial investment which is the idea behind the 500 thousand dollars law.
She says the Lusaka Multi facility Zone is living the purpose it was created for attracting investment for both the local and foreign investors.
She says the facility is beyond its target adding that they are about seven companies already operating in the zone.
