Support from financial institutions key for tourism growth – Stanbic Bank

Stanbic Bank Zambia says it is committed to supporting Zambia’s economy through investment in growth sectors such as tourism.
Speaking during the bank’s fourth Travel Agency Expo, Head of Personal Markets Mbinga Kafunya said such events were important as they promoted networking and partnership that could grow the tourism sector in Zambia. “Tourism plays a vital role in our economy and development of our country through generating income, fostering development and employment creation.
Achieving increased growth in Zambia’s tourism industry will require participation from all stakeholders including the financial sector. As Stanbic Bank we are with you and this show is testament of that support,” he said.
The event was organised in collaboration with Voyagers Zambia and attracted participation from key players in the local tourism industry including several travel agencies, airlines and lodges.
Mr Mbinga encouraged stakeholders to take advantage of the opportunity to not only create relationships but also book themselves a holiday to explore the beauty of Zambia.
“The brokerage firm was created with a view to expand the bank’s services and cater to the wider needs of its clients as well as help facilitate the development of other sectors of the economy such as tourism. It is against this background that Stanbic Insurance Brokers decided to play its part in supporting local tourism by introducing products like travel insurance that covers clients against emergencies such as accidents and non-pre-existing conditions that may arise while on a trip to make traveling easier for clients,” he said.
