Veep hails Zambia, Angola Oil pipeline

Vice President Inonge Wina says the decision to construct an oil pipeline from Angola to Zambia is not meant to incapacitate Indeni Oil Refinery in Ndola.
Mrs. Wina says the pipeline will just supplement the efforts of Indeni Oil Refinery Company in providing the country with affordable fuel.
The Vice President says once the pipeline is constructed, it will bring many benefits to the country including lowering the cost of fuel.
She said this in Parliament during the 45 Minutes Vice President Question Time.
“Mr. Speaker, it is obvious that access to the sea port is extremely important that’s why cost of goods in Zambia are high. We want to lower the cost of fuel with the construction of this important pipeline from Angola into Zambia which I believe will come with several benefits,” she told parliament.
Mrs. Wina says the Zambian and Angolan Governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the 5th of November, 2018 aimed at constructing a fuel pipeline from Angola to Zambia.
She is confident that when this is constructed, it will help fuel reserve depots and tanks that the government has constructed across the country to be operationalized.
