ZAFFICO acquires US$1 million wood harvesting equipment

• ZAFFICO has a total of 1,034 registered small and commercial saw millers.
• The Corporation has acquired state-of-the-art wood harvesting equipment at a cost of over USD1million.
• ZAFFICO’s main business focus is to establish and manage industrial exotic forest plantations.

Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation (ZAFFICO) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the country’s timber industry at all levels of business.
ZAFFICO Public Relations Manager Irene Chipili told Money FM News that it is in this vain that the Corporation has procured a state-of-the-art wood harvesting equipment value at over US$1million to manage round wood business efficiently and effectively.
Ms. Chipili stated that the equipment will enable the Corporation, to implement a fair, transparent, accountable and sustainable system for round wood business.
“The Corporation has a total of 1,034 registered small and commercial saw millers. As part of ZAFFICO’s efforts to manage round wood business efficiently and effectively, the Corporation has acquired a state-of-the-art wood harvesting equipment at a cost of over USD1million,” Ms. Chipili revealed.
She added that ZAFFICO is currently undertaking stakeholder consultations before operationalization of the new equipment.
“ZAFFICO remains committed to supporting the timber industry in Zambia at all levels of business,” she said.
ZAFFICO PLC is a company listed on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE) whose main business focus is to establish and manage industrial exotic forest plantations and supply quality wood products for local and export markets.
